A picture from the home of artist Kenny Scharf in the newly redone Homes section of the LA Times. May your weekend include just a little bit of crazy!

Friday's Fabulous Woman: Annie Lenox
Thought I would end the week with the phenomenal voice of Annie Lenox singing When Tomorrow Comes. Love the 'cover art' on the website of this talented artist and activist.

Art Floors
This work by Heike Weber is incredible. Red floor is permanent marker and black one is cut-outs. I can only imagine how long the marker floor took but I love the result. Via ApartmentTherapy.
Going Nautical
Cleverness and craftiness in a lovely Anthropologie window. I like the cool paint detail around the photographs. Via their Facebook page.

Breathe
Busy week! Magazine photo shoot at my house on Monday, lots of wonderful customers in the store, working on samples for new products, . . . Need to remember to breathe!
Love the setting light and space in this picture I took while visiting a friend in the Hollywood Hills earlier in the week.

Buenes Aires
My list seems to get longer all the time. The travel list that is, not the list of art to own, or the list of books to read, or the list of local places to visit..... I think I need a list of lists!
Loving these pictures from the Danish magazine, Rum's Buenes Aires City Guide. Doesn't it look wonderful?

Fishes in the 1700s
Another new gem from Taschen: Tropical Fishes of the East Indies. Beautiful and interesting illustrations from the 1700s.
Pucci by Taschen
This month Taschen Books released an incredible book celebrating Pucci and his amazing talent for color, pattern and design. I love the boldness and timelessness in Pucci patterns and this book likes a wonderful collection and record of the man, the company and the brand.
The book is a limited edition of 10,000 copies with each bound in one of a selection of patterns from recent collections. Not sure I am up to spending $200 on a book but this collection of 100s of photographs and drawings is art. And relative to the vintage art edition that comes with prints for $450, it's a bargain. Maybe it needs to be on my Christmas list....

Design Commentary
Great use of typeface in these posters by Fabian Barral available here.
Via Bak -- a Turkish magazine showcasing the work of tons of talented graphic designers and artists. Visiting this site is like Alice falling down the hole for me as I could spend hours exploring.

Friday's Fabulous Man: Yinka Shonibare MBE
Is it just me that is asleep or have you all noticed the changes Google has made to image searches? In my case it was love at first sight given that all that comes up now are images and when you scroll over an image, the detail that used to be below each image come up. The collages below were cropped directly from Google.
Now back to the subject at hand: Yinka Shonibare MBE. Born in London, Shonibare grew up in Nigeria and then returned to London to study art. He has built a reputation of commentating on colonialism and related issues. I love his use of African fabric in his sculpture and paintings. The contrast between Victorian forms and African cloth is wonderful. I have yet to see his work in person but its on my list!

Orange You Beautiful
I am having a love affair with dark orange at the moment. Maison 140 by Kelly Wearstler, great house featured on DesignSponge yesterday and my recently painted fridge:)
Deb Kaloper
Gorgeous food styling by Deb Kaloper. The colors and emotions in these images would make great inspiration points for a line of textiles or the decor for a room. Enjoyed the interview with her on DesignFiles.

Color Splash
Great color in this kids room. Move out the twin beds and put in a queen size and this would be a great adults room. Via ApartmentTherapy
Roland Bello
Beautiful interior images from the portfolio of Roland Bello. I am loving the shell chandelier and bedding in the image below and the peacock blue below that.
