Happy Thanksgiving

Leaves and Rain

It's finally looking like Fall in LA with lots of rain, and leaves everywhere. Perfect weather for curling up with a good book in front of a fire. I am currently loving a book we have in the store about the work and life of Saint Exupery, the man behind The Little Prince. The book is full of his adventures, his friendships, his creativity with words, and his wonderful, whimsical illustrations.

Scenic Change

We've changed things up in the store to make room for lots of holiday goodies and just because change is good. Thrilled with the 'renovation' and upholstery job on the old sofa I found at a market as well as the great wool pillows we've added to warm things up. And yes, I've always loved the Union Jack.

Its crazy hot here in LA, the aircon is running, fires are raging and I have throws in the store. It's a topsy turvy world!

Building a Nest

Congratulations to our friends at Nest. Their new website -- www.buildanest.com -- went live today with lots of great things to buy for a great cause. Henry Road is one of the many artists and designers selling items on their site -- a percentage of all sales goes to the organization.

The mission of Nest is to support women artists and artisans in the developing world by helping them create sustainable entrepreneurial businesses. To do this, Nest provides micro-credit loans to be used for the purchase of the supplies and materials necessary to begin and/or maintain art or craft-based businesses.

Henri Bendel's in NY is doing a special promotion this week commemorating the anniversary of the peace sign and they are featuring our Woodstock pillows. Apparently they have already sold out of some of them:)
