Artist Series: Matthew Langille
We hung the wonderful illustrations of Matthew Langille in the shop today. Matthew is a New York-based designer and illustrator. His work has been shown at galleries in NY and featured in numerous art journals and publications. He has created images and drawings for many global fashion and design houses including Marc by Marc Jacobs, Adidas and Havaianas. Please join us on Thursday Feb 12 from 6-9pm for a Valentine's Celebration and the opening.

The front door of the store is now sandbagged so I can lie in bed at night and enjoy the sound of rain and not worry about how far up the sidewalk its wandering:)

Back from NY
Just got back from the craziness and cool (and cold) of New York. Didn't have time to do much outside of the Gift Show but squeezed in half an hour at ABC which can't be missed. Love this wall of African baskets!

Ready for Valentines Day
We spent Monday moving things around in the store and bringing in lots of new things including some incredible antique chairs that I had covered in Union Jack fabric. With Valentines Day already around the corner, we filled every corner with love. I am thrilled with how everything is looking. This is a shot of our window. The art with the gorgeous hunk weeping hearts is by Michelle Caplan.

Happy 2009!
It's a new year which means time to get things straightened out and caught up--and, in between all the filing and sorting and counting inventory, having some fun. One of my favorite things to do is head for a flea market...the treasures I found this weekend included a white horse statue, a beautiful vase covered in wheels, a set of pewter bottles, and some ridiculously amusing very large brown bottles with vintage pharma labels.
