An artist, set decorator, furniture designer, and textile designer, Sonia Delaunay is known for her use of strong color and bold geometrics. Born in the USSR, she moved to Paris in her twenties and over the years created an extensive body of work. Her fashion designs from the 1920s, as well as textiles designed for the Metz department store in Amsterdam in the 1930s are the primary focus of a show at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York from March 18 to June 5. How I would love to go to that!
