I have been so preoccupied with wrapping gifts in the shop, blogging got dropped off the list unfortunately.    I won't be back at it until the new year as I am taking the next week off to catch up on admin, bookkeeping and inventory.

African Wax Cloth Armchair

I just had this old armchair that my upholsterer found 'upcycled' in patchwork of African wax cloth cotton and am in love.   Restraining myself from keeping it rather than selling it as I love the mix of color and pattern contrasting with the chips and weathering on the white frame.

Scratch Off World Map

One of the most popular items in our shop is a world map that is covered in gold foil so you can scratch off where you have been.  Spotted this great photo of the map in fabulous use here.

Salvador Dali Meets Alice

Happy Thanksgiving

So far, it's been a perfect day.  I started the morning with a hike in the hills under a cloudy sky, then I cobbled together a rough sample of a tote bag for next year which I liked.   And now I'm curled up on the sofa watching the Thanksgiving Parade in NY on TV.  I hope your day is as enjoyable and relaxing!

Roadtrip To Idyllwild

On Friday I took a day trip to Idyllwild perched high in the mountains of the San Bernadino Forest.   I'd never been before and I loved it.  This friendly town hit a perfect trifecta for me:  good flea market finds, excellent food and stunning scenery.  It was a perfect blue sky day until we were headed down the mountain and found ourselves above the clouds, in the clouds and then below the clouds which was simultaneously eery and exciting.
