Vatican Library

Old libraries and old books hold a place in my heart so its not surprising that I love these pictures of the Vatican Library.  One of the oldest in the world, it is set to reopen next week after 3 years of restoration.  Aren't the ceilings magnificent!  Via BBC.

Cake Monkey Bakery

My friend, Lisa has this incredible bakery here in Los Angeles that makes all sorts of tasty treats.  Their specialty is mini layer cakes so no sharing needed!   She posted this gorgeous picture of Must Love Chocolate and Raspberry Red Velvet Mini Layer Cakes standing ready at a wedding on their facebook page yesterday.   I think I would have a hard time choosing between the two!

Black n White

Must have black and white on the brain thanks to Marlene Dietrich.  It is so timeless while being equal parts stark and interesting, glamorous and casual. 

Not sure about tartan all over the floor of a room but love love love it going up the stairs...

I am always amazed how quickly the evenings get darker earlier at this time of year.  It makes me want to grab on to the light and hold on tight!   Wishing you a sun-filled, color-filled weekend!

Came across this video of Marlene Dietrich singing "Boys will be Boys" this week and, aside from how stunningly beautiful she was and what incredible eyebrows she had, love her sultry fabulous evening gowns and the great smoking jacket! Glamor personified!
