Spotted these boxes in the window of Penhaligon's on Kings Road in London last week.   Clever, whimsical illustrations!

Modern Style is All About....

Living etc contributor, Steven Short sums up my view of style.   My favorite picture in the Jan issue is this spectacular life-size photograph of Twenties theater star Kyra Alanova on canvas framed by Designer's Guild fabric with a great pompom trim.  Oh the stories this woman had to tell!

Just over a day in London included lots of walking and hanging out with friends and family!

Boxing Day

I spent a few days with my family in England over the holidays.    Beautiful texture and light during the walk on a chilly Boxing Day morning in the lanes and along the sea wall.

The boats.   What's that they say about mad dogs and Englishmen....some folks were out racing in the freezing cold.  The bright sails, a splash of color in a muted landscape.

Hella Jongerius

I am with Jonathan from Happy Mundane: this is an exhibition I would love to see.  A retrospective of the work of the crazy talented and imaginative Hella Jongerius in Rotterdam.  While I like the play on perspective, I am not sure that I need a sofa on my wall, but I do want the table with the frog as my desk!  Pictures: HappyMundane and DesignBoom
